For cold email & outbound — CleverlyBox
USE CASES

The cold-email stack minus seven separate subscriptions.

Instantly. Lemlist. ZeroBounce. Hunter. Apollo. Jasper. SmartLead. Add them up. Most outbound operators are paying $400+/month aggregate for one workflow — find the leads, verify them, write the variations, rotate the SMTP, send the sequence, handle replies. CleverlyBox runs the whole loop in one platform at the price of a tank of gas, once.

Enterprise Environment

You run B2B outbound for your own startup, an agency, or a roster of clients. Your stack is a Frankenstein: Instantly to send, ZeroBounce to verify, Hunter for emails, Apollo for filters, Jasper for variations, and a CRM holding it all together. Six logins. Six bills. CleverlyBox is the version where one platform does six tools' work and the SMTP rotation actually behaves.

Seven separate subscriptions for
one outbound workflow

$97/mo · Instantly
SMTP rotation as a SaaS subscription

Your inbox warms five Google Workspace accounts. Instantly orchestrates the rotation. Drop one tool, rotation breaks. Drop the rotation, deliverability craters within a week.

$59/mo · Lemlist
Personalization tokens, separately

Variable images, dynamic landing pages, custom liquid blocks. Lemlist charges for these. Most cold-email teams keep both Instantly AND Lemlist paying twice for a sequence engine.

$39/mo · ZeroBounce
Verification as a third subscription

Hunter's emails come in 60% verified. ZeroBounce gets you to 95%. So you upload to ZeroBounce, wait, download, re-upload to Instantly. Two extra hops and a separate bill

$49/mo · Hunter
Lead finding, separately

Domain → email scraping is its own product. Hunter, Apollo, RocketReach pick one. Pay another monthly fee. Switch between them when filters break.

$49/mo · Jasper or Copy.ai
AI variations require a separate AI tool

Cold email needs unique-looking content per recipient (spam filters score on duplicate body). Jasper writes 30 variants. You paste them into Instantly. Two more tabs in the workflow.

$49–99/mo · CRM
Reply tracking lives in another silo

Replies hit your inbox, sentiment-scored by HubSpot or by an SDR. The cold-email tool doesn't see the close. The CRM doesn't see the sequence. You play telephone with your own data

Five sender pools. Five providers.
One sequence

01 SMTP rotation

Native multi-provider sending across SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, your own SMTP, and Postal

CleverlyBox supports 14 sending providers natively, plus arbitrary SMTP. Configure each sender mailbox as a separate sending server. Group them into a sending pool. Set per-mailbox daily caps (50/day for warming, 200/day for warm, 500/day for established). The rotation logic spreads sends across the pool to keep each individual mailbox below ESP throttles. Auto-failover when reputation drops on one mailbox.

  • 14 providers + generic SMTP — connect Google Workspace, Outlook 365, Zoho, custom domain SMTP, AWS SES, etc
  • Per-mailbox daily quota with automatic ramp-up — 50/day → 200/day → 500/day over 4 weeks
  • Spread-fire scheduling — sends paced 30–90 seconds apart per mailbox to mimic human send rate
  • Health monitor: bounce rate, complaint rate, reply rate per mailbox — auto-pause on threshold
02 Verification

Verify-on-import across 14 verification providers

The CSV from Hunter or Apollo lands at 60–70% verifiable. Run it through CleverlyBox's verification on import pick from ZeroBounce, Emailable, Kickbox, Bouncify, Debounce, Cloudmersive, Flaxxa Mail Cleaner, and seven others. Bring your own provider key. Verification happens before the send queue, so dead inboxes never hit your IP reputation.

  • 14 verification providers — switch when one's filter quality changes
  • Verify-on-import (catch dead emails before adding to list) and verify-on-step (re-verify before each campaign)
  • Quarantine soft-bounces and disposable-domains automatically
  • Bring your own provider API key — direct verification cost, no platform markup
03 Variation

Spintax + GPT-generated body variations. Every send is unique

Cold-email content fingerprint matching is how Gmail catches outbound campaigns. CleverlyBox combines two strategies: spintax for token-level variation ({Hi|Hey|Hello} {{first_name}}), and the built-in OpenAI integration for paragraph-level variation (10 distinct rewrites of the same email). Combined: every recipient gets a body fingerprint that no two recipients share. Spam filters score it as one-to-one mail.

  • Spintax: token-level variation in subject and body — 100s of unique permutations from one template
  • GPT body variation: prompt-driven rewrites at paragraph level, saved as variants
  • Per-send fingerprint randomization — combine spintax + variant pick to ensure no two are alike
  • Preview tool: see 20 randomized renders side-by-side before launching
04 Lead Finder

Find leads. Verify them. Push to a sequence. Without leaving the tab

The Flaxxa Lead Finder integration is built into CleverlyBox. Search by domain, role, seniority, region. The result: verified emails with confidence scores, pushed directly into a CleverlyBox list — which you then plug into a sequence. No CSV juggling. No Hunter → ZeroBounce → Instantly relay. The whole prospecting-to-sending loop happens in three clicks.

  • Search by domain (find all the emails at saas-target.com), role (find all VPs of Marketing), or company filter
  • Verification runs inline on results — only verified emails make it to your list
  • Push to list, automation, or campaign with one click — no export/import cycle
  • Replaces Hunter ($49/mo) + Apollo ($79/mo) + ZeroBounce ($39/mo) — three tools, one feature

Five cold-email automations that work

Classic 4-touch sequence

Day 0: pitch. Day 3: bump (no opener). Day 7: case study. Day 14: break-up. Auto-pause on reply. Spintax + GPT variations enabled. Default cold-email template.

Account-based 6-touch

Multi-persona at the same account: VP, director, manager, IC. 6-touch sequence over 21 days. Conditional branch: if VP replies, pause the rest. Higher-value, lower-volume.

A/B angle test

Two parallel sequences with different opening angles. Same prospects split 50/50. 14-day window. Whichever angle wins by reply rate becomes the new control. Iteration engine for outbound.

Re-engage non-openers

Trigger: 60 days since last touch + no opens. New angle, fresh subject line. 2-touch sequence. Catches the "bad timing" prospects who'd otherwise rot in the CRM.

Reply-handler with pause logic

Inbound reply detection auto-pauses the sequence. Routes to your inbox or to a Slack channel. No more "we sent the bump email after they already replied" embarrassment.

Booked-meeting nurture

Trigger: Calendly webhook → meeting booked. Pre-meeting email with prep guide. Day-after recap email with deck. 7-day follow-up if no reply post-meeting. Loop closes itself.

The deliverability fundamentals. Built
into the platform

05 Warmup + reputation

Warm IPs. DKIM rotation. Bounce + complaint thresholds

Cold-email deliverability is determined by three things: how warm your IP is, how clean your sending domain's auth is, and how aggressively you respect the ESPs' soft thresholds. CleverlyBox enforces all three. Per-mailbox warmup ramps from 50/day to 500/day over 28 days. SPF/DKIM/DMARC wired with copy-paste DNS. Bounce + complaint dashboards trip auto-pause when thresholds are crossed.

  • Per-mailbox warmup schedule: 50→100→200→500/day across 4 weeks (configurable)
  • SPF + DKIM + DMARC setup with DNS records pre-formatted for your provider
  • Per-domain DKIM key rotation — refresh every 90 days for clean reputation
  • Bounce-rate threshold: auto-pause campaign at 5%; complaint threshold: 0.1%
  • Reply tracking: detected reply auto-pauses the sequence — no more bump-after-reply embarrassments

From outbound operators
who consolidated

"I was paying $487/month for Instantly + Lemlist + ZeroBounce + Hunter + Jasper + a CRM. Migrated everything to CleverlyBox in a week. My reply rate actually went up because the spintax + GPT variations are sharper than what I was hand-writing in Lemlist. $5,800 saved year-1."

"The mailbox rotation logic is the cleanest I've used. Five Google Workspace accounts, balanced sends, auto-warmup. I dropped Smartlead the same week I bought CleverlyBox. Two cancellations, one purchase, never going back."

Outbound SDR · B2B SaaS founder

"Lead Finder + verification + sequence in one place is the unlock. I used to copy CSVs between Hunter, ZeroBounce, and Instantly three times a week. Now I search, verify, push, send. Saved myself 4 hours a week and one tab worth of mental load."

FAQ

Cold-email operator questions.

CleverlyBox is a self-deployed platform you control the sending. The legal question is jurisdiction (CAN-SPAM in the US is opt-out friendly; GDPR in Europe is much stricter). The platform doesn't restrict it; the underlying SMTP provider's TOS does (SES allows cold; SendGrid restricts it heavily). For most operators, the right setup is your own Google Workspace + Outlook 365 mailboxes for cold-outreach (which Google permits with rate limits) and SES for opt-in marketing. Two pools, one platform.

Reply rate depends on copy quality, list quality, and mailbox warmth not the orchestration tool. Most operators see equal-or-better reply rates after migration because (a) the GPT-driven variations are usually more varied than human-written variations, and (b) the verify-on-import step kicks bad emails out before they bounce. The first 2 weeks are the warming-trust window — keep volumes conservative.

Unlimited on the Pro and Agency tiers. Most outbound operators run 5–20 mailboxes (one or two domains, multiple aliases). The orchestration handles per-mailbox quotas, ramp-up schedules, and health-pause logic across the entire pool. You can mix providers (Google Workspace + Outlook 365 + SES) in the same pool.

No platform markup. You bring your own OpenAI API key, the prompts and outputs flow through your account. Typical cost for cold-email body variation: $0.001 to $0.01 per email. For a 5,000-send sequence: $5–50 in OpenAI costs, billed directly to you by OpenAI. CleverlyBox doesn't intermediate or upsell.

Email content (HTML or plain text) imports cleanly. Sequence step structure (touch 1 day 0, touch 2 day 3, etc.) you'll rebuild — usually 10–20 minutes per sequence in CleverlyBox's visual builder. List import is straightforward CSV. Custom field mappings work identically. The week-long migration time is usually spent on warming the new mailboxes, not on platform setup.

Google Workspace gives you better Gmail inbox placement (Google trusts its own domain), at the cost of stricter rate limits (~500/day per mailbox sustainable, less during warmup). SES gives you higher throughput (10K+/hour possible) and lower per-email cost, at the cost of a slightly higher learning curve on warmup. For under 5K cold sends/month, Google Workspace is usually the better choice. Above 10K/month, SES (or a hybrid pool) wins on cost.

CleverlyBox can monitor each sender mailbox via IMAP for inbound replies and auto-pause the sequence when a reply is detected. For Google Workspace mailboxes, the integration uses Gmail's API. The reply itself stays in your inbox CleverlyBox just signals "they replied, stop the bumps" to the automation. You can also forward replies to a Slack channel for SDR triage.
